Hi, my name is Julia Mazza and I have been studying the art of photography for the past 6 years. I was a registered nurse for 9 years, then left my career several years ago to be a full-time mom of three. It was at that time that I really began to study and pursue photography.
My education has consisted of reading NUMEROUS books and also the study of professional photography work in print and online. I have also been competing online in various photography contests for the past 6 years and I have gained tremendous knowledge from my peers. Online photo sites offer a vast resource to learn from. My goal is to learn something new every day and I strive to keep perfecting my art as time goes on.
My portrait business began as a hobby. My children never liked to go to a photo studio---the waiting was unpleasant and the photographers were rushed. I also found myself disappointed with the choices and the cost. I decided to learn portrait photography and I haven't ever looked back!
Now I offer you this service---I will come into your own home or location of choice---allowing you and your children to feel comfortable and relaxed. I do not rush, and I take numerous photos for you to choose from (generally 100-300 shots). My pricing is affordable and you get to OWN your portraits---I don't make you keep coming back for reprints. Not only does that make my life easier, but it also allows you the freedom to use your portraits any way you choose.
My goal has always been to give people what they are looking for. I also offer professional quality digital editing. My editing skills are the result of YEARS of learning and practice. I spend roughly 5-6 hours every day using Photoshop CS3 and learning new techniques. I am also in the process of learning Corel Painter X, so I can offer digital paintings to those who would desire such a product. I also enjoy creating fantasy shots of angels and fairies. Women who want to feel extra beautiful might also consider my boudoir portrait work.
